OUR STORY.

These Walls is a textile design studio based in Burleigh Heads, Queensland, situated on the East Coast of Australia. Our focus is to create beautiful quality wallpaper and fabrics that are designed and printed locally. We cater for residential, hospitality and commercial interior projects worldwide.

Our name These Walls is derived from the saying: ‘If these walls could talk’. The spaces around us resonate with our unique stories, memories and our interiors are deeply intertwined in these conversations of living.

These Walls was created in 2014 by Sara Hingle and husband Mick Hingle. Originally from Perth in Western Australia, Sara's creative career has seen her working as an editorial illustrator and designer on numerous publications in Australia and Internationally. Over the past decade, Sara found herself being commissioned on briefs designing and art-working patterns and a love for the 'world of pattern' arose as a result.

All but a few designs by These Walls have been created by Sara’s hand. More recently, Sara has enjoyed working with like-minded artists and illustrators on which to commission and collaborate with, such as “Palmy” (by Llewlyn Mejia) and “Sunbird” (by Mia Taninaka) being the first of many to come.

Over the past 7 years These Walls has grown from an idea, to a home studio with Sara at the helm, through to today - a shared warehouse studio space.

SUSTAINABILITY.

We are always working to minimise our impact on the environment. Our wallpaper is made from sustainable and renewable resources. It contains 30% recycled PCW (Post Consumer Waste) and 70% renewable cellulose fibres.

We design and manufacture locally to keep our footprint as light as possible. By printing to order, we reduce paper wastage per project and steer clear of excess or unused stock on the whole.

Our wallpaper is printed with eco-solvent inks which have excellent UV fastness to light, meaning your wallpaper will last as long as you love it. Forever we hope!
